About 250 million children have been affected as their habits have already changed and a majority of them have got engaged in other means of earning needed to ensure survival.

- Human and social capitals are two fundamental bases for the community to progress
- NGOs/CBOs worked with the most vulnerable segment (women) in mobilizing and building their institutions and facilitated them towards Empowerment Path
- At the same time, the Educational level of their children have generally poor – causing colossal loss to themselves, their family and the humanity as a whole.
- lack of quality delivery in the school compounded with their socio economic backwardness resulting into disinterest, dropping out of the education system, and for early marriages and trafficking and out of learning path

- With Learners drawn from backward community – first generation learners with little / no supportive learning ambience
- Bartika Learning Centres equipped with study room, library – physical and on line resources including NDLI, on-line and offline topic based supports, and of course supporting facilitator/s to catch up formal studies.
- Ensuring Community Participation and Ownership

The initial milestones achieved:
- Enhanced interest in learning
- Enhanced leaning abilities in reading, writing, and numeracy
- Enhanced performance in the centre and also in their formal institutions
- Community participation and ownership developed for the centre.
- Basic computer literacy achieved
- Enhanced Physical, mental and intellectual capabilities through sports and, and Bratachari – a comprehensive program of physical, mental, and intellectual exercises, based on folk traditions, along with physical exercise, art, dance, drama, music, singing and social service.
